Indirekt Showcase - Opening night

Indirekt festival of independent music and art, first of a kind, is founded in 2013 in Umag (ISTRA). The initial idea was to gather all the regional artists in one place in the atmosphere that erases boarders between performers and the audience. And in dedd, since then many boarders have been erased. Due to the regional networking of independent music scene, in October 2015 in Belgrade the first Indirekt takes place. Since then this festival in Serbia gathers over 1000 youg people and musicians in general from our country but also the foreigners.

The third edition of Indirekt Festival that takes place in October this year is planned as an international music Showcse festival (the first showcase festival in Belgrade), and the opening will be in KC GRAD. For this occasion the audience will be able to enjoy the performances of two bands - Barbarisms from Sweeden and TRIKO from Belgrade.

Barbarisms is a three piece band from Stockholm, fronted by American songwriter Nicholas Faraone. Their self-titled debut drew melodic comparisons to Guided by Voices and Built to Spill and lyrical references to Destroyer and Smog. The band started after a mutual friend introduced guitarist Tom Skantze and Nicholas at a bus stop. With Robin Af Ekenstam on drums, the band began to reinvent some of the many folk songs Nicholas had written while living and performing in Paris.

Experimenting with lo-fi recording methods to capture the spontaneity of the writing, the band developed what Uncut Magazine referred to as a "loose and breezy" aesthetic that highlights the "conversational poetry" of the lyrics.
Supporting their first record, the band shared the stage with artists such as Jens Lekman, Timber Timbre, Alice Boman and Micah P Hinson.

“Browser “, second LP out in May 2016 for the italian record label A Modest Proposal, is an album that studies how funny we can be in times of desperation, and asks: how much loss we can laugh off before the language of the heart becomes foreign to us?

“Browser” will appeal specifically to listeners who like their Graham Parsons cut with Galaxy 500, their Built to Spill cut with Silver Jews - and more generally to those who like to discover their lips moving while their toes tap to a thought.
